Mr. Stamp's inability to proactively work a home appraisal was inexcusable. The home, a gorgeous and unique property meant Mr. Stamp needed to do some legwork to find appropriate market comparisons. He refused to proactively search out comparable properties, preferring to whine about the home not being easy to compare to cookie-cutter newer construction. His appraisal figure was woefully inadequate and beyond untimely. His patronizing nature was also completely uncalled for. Add to that his refusals to return phone calls and provide proper customer service made the home-buying experience, which is already a stressful one, even more so. I highly recommend area homebuyers and lenders do their best to avoid allowing Mr. Stamp anywhere near their real estate deals. Thankfully the sellers, lender and real estate agent worked together with my friend to complete this deal in spite of Mr. Stamp's lackadaisical efforts.
