Good luck getting the valuation of your home come in correctly if you're unfortunate to have good ol' Mr.Hutchinson, aka The Deal Killer, be your appraiser. I was looking to buy a home in the Ewa Beach and his appraisal came in $20K lower than the purchase price. It was a brand new home and the loan officer mentioned to me that no other all appraisals came in lower for that community EXCEPT his. I eventually cancelled my deal and looked someplace else. How is his "interpretation" of the value justifiable when that's the only low valuation of out 50 or so homes???

Mr. Hutchinson, I sincerely hope you see this review. Are you aware you are known as THE DEAL KILLER? You destroyed our dream of a first home, and displaced our family as well as caused a family with a sick child to have their home go into forclosure rather than be sold to us. We found found our dream home. It was perfect for our family. My father, a veteran, is very ill and we wanted a home we could give my parents an apartment in so we could not only take care of them, but spend time with him as well. We don't have a lot of time. He lives an in apt with stairs so its only a matter of time before he can't make those anymore. We were anxious to get moved in and settled into our new homes. We started the process of buying the home and had already started packing and gave notice to all of our landlords. All we needed was the vA inspection. Then we had the unfortunate luck of having you assigned as our appraiser. The Realtor, mortgage specialist, private appraiser and loan office ALL said "Oh no, you got the worst appraiser". And they were right. When are report came back, he found a discrepency, that was basically obviously an error done back in 1967. Everything was fine and to code and permitted, but this minor little issue that he could have overlooked, YOU brought up and the only way for it to be resolved was to get a drafts person to redraw the house and do an as build permit. That is something we probably could have dealt with. BUT aside from that, as if it wasn't bad enough we had a major permitting issue to deal with, YOU nit picked about things that were not safety issues, that other appraisers don't even look at. And there were so many of those issues that we actually could not get all the issues addressed in time. The bank would not give us an extension, the deal fell through and the owners are now in forclosure. Keep in mind we all had already spent thousands of dollars trying to deal with all of these things which we don't get back. So the sellers who were already in financial distress, lost money and their home to forclosure. We lost money and our dream home and now we are all trying to find places to live. Found a new place to buy, found out it had come back on the market. Guess why? Because your inspection was too much and the deal fell through. Was at a Kailua Chamber meeting telling some people about our experiences. 3 people out of a table of 8 knew you and all said THAT GUY IS TERRIBLE, he killed our deal!! As if it isn't hard enough for people to buy or sell their homes in this market, you have to make people's lives miserable. And what is worse? These are Veterans. AUWE!!!! How can you live with yourself???
      - 2/8/2018 - 2/8/2018: Wayne Hutchinson is still doing appraisals and writes reports so picky.. not a health or safety issue that the lenders/banks denies the loan. VA needs to have someone to override frivolous items due to the severity of the issues of which this appraiser is over board in writing up a defect...
