Rate and Review ASAP Appraisals

My wife and I recently had John as our appraiser on our new home in Artesia NM and were extremely disappointed. The original appraisal came back lower than expected but we were able to notice the square footage on the appraisal was much less than the house blueprints. The home seller's realtor was able to convince John to remeasure the house and he came up with 30 additional square feet the second time around. We expected the house value to increase with the additional square footage only to find the home value to increase $1,500. He had no reason behind why the home value would not increase based on the $/sqf and additional square footage. The worst part about dealing with John was his inability to respond in a reasonable amount of time. It took him two weeks to get the first report out and then another 2.5 weeks to get the second revised report. When we had questions about the reports he was never available to answer the questions. If you are needing an appraisal i would definitely recommend looking elsewhere even if you have to wait!
